Hello from Planet X (Derica, Retro, hats off, KBH)

Derica Cadet reveals her true self today in this shot we did on set. After the war she became a fine arts and ballet student in New York, and came out West to Hollywood to see if she could make it in the movies. Her heavy French accent didn't play too well with the studio big wigs, they wanted more white-bread and mayonnaise actresses, so we picked up her studio contract and she has been happy ever since.

Her accent plays very well to our sci-fi matinee crowds, she's exotic enough and she acts it like she's a space alien from Planet X. I know it's France, but our audiences suspend disbelief enough that it works. It's sci-fi, have fun and relax!

It's funny, sometimes you never know where you are going to be happy until life sort of throws you in a situation you have to make the best of. You find your place, and you become the person life needs you to be.
